Rule #7: No Political Posts. I have a site to site VPN between two sites. One site has a SonicWall (Site A), the other a Cisco ASA (Site B). The SonicWall office has a few Mac's that are NOT added to our domain.

The Mac's use the DNS servers from Site B and everything was working except they could not resolve DNS to devices at Site B. So I checked the network settings of a few Mac's and they are grabbing the correct DHCP settings, IP and subnet is good, DNS IPs are correct, I can ping IP addresses from Site B without issue. On a whim, I added our local domain name to the search domain box, as there was none there. This actually fixed the issue and now the Mac's are able to resolve DNS. My question is.why? I have a ton of Mac's at Site B that don't have this issue. I guess it's something with the VPN tunnel, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
