I am writing this because more and more of U.S. Army types are going to Apple products these days and we oftentimes encounter issues with accessing the 'less' sophisticated software-based forms that were originally designed primarily for Microsoft products. For a long while the U.S. Army went with the downright horrible FormFlow Filler software for its fillable forms requirement. This was always problematic because of issues with the software not keeping pace with DoD's security patches, leading to time-consuming compatibility issues. Also, getting FormFlow to work in home computers became an issue, regardless of OS. So, finally, the Army went to fillable.pdf forms (this is a relatively recent change).

However, for a number of reasons, there are times when the trusty ol' MacBook cannot make heads or tails of the fillable.pdf forms. In my case, I found it had to do with security permissions.

So, after searching the web for a while, this is what I found to work: OS Version: OS X El Capitan Version 10.11 beta Safari: Version 9.0 1) Open Safari and go to the army armypubs.army.mil website (as this is where you will pull the Army fillable form from) 2) In the upper left-hand corner of your Safari browser, click on Safari and then choose Preferences Security 3) In the Security tab, choose Plug-in Settings. 4) In Plug-In Settings, choose Adobe Reader 5) In the window for Adobe Reader (on the right), find armypubs.army.mil in the ' Currently Open Websites' window 6) Change the permissions to Allow Always.

A little warning triangle will appear right next to it - don't worry about it, it's an Army website. 7) Close out everything (hit ' Done' and so on) and then restart Safari and go to the armypubs.army.mil website and open your fillable.pdf form I hope this helps some of you out there.
